Houseboat Rental Policy
You must be at least 25 years old to rent a boat. Prior boating experience is required to rent the Silverthorn Queen I or II.
Reservation Deposits
A deposit is required to make your reservation:
- Silverthorn Queen I & II: $1,000
- Executive or Presidential: $500
Reservation deposits are applied to the total rental amount. 50% of this deposit is refundable if you cancel your reservation, in writing, 60 days before the scheduled arrival date.
Deposits are refundable if your reservation cannot be honored due to Silverthorn availability or condition beyond our control. We accept personal checks only from the person who signs the rental contract.
Payment Policy
The full balance of rental charges, less the reservation deposit must be paid:
- 60 days before your scheduled arrival date for summer season rentals
- 45 days for off-season rentals
The full payment will be kept by Silverthorn if you cancel the reservation after that date. If full payment is not received before the due date, the reservation will be considered cancelled, and Silverthorn will retain the reservation deposit.
Damage Deposit
Before you board, Silverthorn requires that you pay a damage deposit. This deposit is fully refundable providing the boat inventory and check-in status is satisfactory upon your return of the boat. Deposits can be made by credit card (VISA, Master Card), traveler's check, money order, or cash — personal checks are not accepted.
Before returning the boat, you are responsible for:
- filling the boat's gas tanks
- light cleaning
- any noted damage to the boat or cabin and all related equipment.
